| The Abbe Center for Community Care provides transitional and residential services in Marion, Iowa. The staff at the Center utilizes a multi-faceted approach to meet resident needs through individualized treatment in a supervised and structured environment. Residents have access to physicians and other qualified medical professionals, including round-the-clock nursing
supervision and consultation services. Other daily living needs such as laundry, pharmacy, transportation, education, finances, and therapy are all part of the Centers’ programs. |
RESIDENTIAL CARE FOR PERSONS WITH MENTAL ILLNESS
The RCF/PMI program is designed to provide both transitional & long-term psychiatric services to adults. This program serves individuals who require more structured psychiatric services than can be provided by outpatient treatment.
Suitable applicants for RCF must:

Pose no danger to themselves or others |

Have no medical needs that require daily professional nursing services |

Be free of any active stage of communicable disease |
| • |
Not be actively chemically dependent. |
RESIDENTIAL CARE:
The RCF program is designed to provide long-term residential care to adults with psychiatric, developmental and/or medical conditions. The focus of treatment at this level of care is to assist residents in maintaining their physical & mental wellbeing. |

PMI
Treatment revolves around an individual's program plan,
a guideline for personalized treatment developed by the
resident & the interdisciplinary team of professional staff.
The structured interactions found on the PMI unit include individual counseling, an organized activity program, medication counseling, education groups and discharge planning. As PMI residents begin the transition back to the community, they may also become involved in the work program and/or day treatment programs in the Cedar Rapids community.
Suitable applicants for PMI must:
